MATCH PREVIEW | Rhinos and Warriors clash in Super 4s matchup this Saturday
Back-to-back matches against Wigan Warriors await Leeds Rhinos Women, who look to get back to winning ways this Saturday afternoon as Lois Forsell's side heads to Robin Park Arena to face the Warriors, kick off 2pm.
Defeat to York Valkyrie last time out hasn't changed the Rhinos' current league position with three games to go, but has opened a four-point gap to the reigning Grand Final champions ahead of this week's meeting.
Here's your match preview:
Opposition
With a Challenge Cup trophy already back in the cabinet in 2026, Wigan Warriors are within touching distance of reclaiming their League Leaders' title too as they look to become the first side in the history of the Women's game to repeat their domestic treble success.
An unbeaten 2026 campaign in all competitions has seen no side get close to matching Denis Bett's squad as the stars of last year's three-trophy season continue to deliver on the pitch. Veteran winger Anna Davies shows no sign of slowing down as she tops the club's try charts with 24 tries, whilst the opposite wing has seen Ellise Derbyshire exceed her 2025 tally as the winger's 16 tries this season earned her a first England cap for the recent World Cup warm-up fixture against France. Halves partners Izzy Rowe and Jenna Foubister remain the likely half-backs for Stu Barrow's England squad heading down under as they marshall Wigan around the field alongside full-back Grace Banks and hooker Remi Wilton, whilst reigning Woman of Steel Eva Hunter has also continued her destructive campaign with 21 tries in 11 appearances, including four tries in the Cup final win over St Helens.
Now with a settled squad heading into the final matches of the campaign, the Warriors posted 56 points on derby rivals St Helens in round ten - led by two tries for Grace Banks and Molly Jones amongst the 11 tries. The result is the fourth consecutive game that the side has accumulated 40+ points and toppled a 44-6 result against the Red Vee from the opening game of the Super 4s competition. The only sides who have come close to matching the Warriors so far this season have been the Rhinos back in round one of the regular season, when the Cherry and White's managed to get the home win by eight points, before a tighter affair with the Red Vee finished in a high-scoring 32-28 final score back in round six.
Matching their success across this year's competition, Wigan also host Leeds having won their last four Super League meetings against the Rhinos. Since the Rhinos claimed a 24-4 win at the Brick Community Stadium in the final game of the 2024 regular season, Wigan have gone on to beat Lois Forsell's side in all three league matches in 2025, and the sole 2026 meeting between the clubs back in round one.
Now with back-to-back games against the Rhinos and an away trip to York remaining in the Super 4s, a win down the final stretch would mathematically seal the League Leaders title and another piece of silverware for the Warriors. Lifting the Shield this year also has an extra bonus, as the Warriors would get an automatic place in this year's Grand Final and avoid having to face Leeds, Saints or York in a semi-final shootout.
